The staff is very friendly and caring, and the teachers want their students to succeed and since the school is so small, it allows you to really feel as a part of the school's community. I would recommend CCAA for anyone who wants to feel they are really a part of their school and not just a student ID number. This school requires student and parental engagement via an hourly requirement of community service per school year, though this can be knocked out in a few Fridays (called "Field Study Days") over the course of the school year, and it helps the local community! You will know your classmates' names, you will be engaged in school activities, and you will have some creative learning opportunities which I can't imagine happening anywhere else. According to multiple students that took his course, he doesn't grade fairly nor does he offer feedback. My other complaint regards a chemistry teacher that works at the school, whom of which seems to not treat his students very fairly. Another student and I are currently working on a project to introduce more inclusive books to the curriculum. The only complaints I have are the following: first off, the high school history and government curriculum doesn't seem to be very inclusive of various types of ethnicity's and races. The teachers at Visions are very kind, and work to ensure that each of their students' voices are heard. No other school that I have attended has given this type of offer to its students.
In doing so, each student has the ability to explore any field of study or project- something I find incredibly useful in terms of education.
Senior: My school has a wide offer of extracurricular opportunities thanks to the money we are given to spend each semester.
